The analysis report is broke up into several sections.

This information is useful both in tracking the progress of your own website, in spying on your competitor sites, and helping determine a web site neighborhood (it's good to make sure a site is not a bad neighborhood site before linking to it).

Much information can be gleaned about the health of the site as well as its SEO strength by scanning through the website analysis report. Below is the list of sections you will find in the reports as well as why the information is useful.

Meta Information

Along with page text, this information tells the search engines what your site is about. Every page on your website should have unique Meta Title, Meta Description and Meta Keyword information. This information should be based on what the page is about (not just random information to try to get the page to show on unrelated searches). You can use this information to analize a competitor website and see with what keywords he is trying to rank well in with the search engine searches. Choosing the right information for these three locations can make a huge difference in how well your site does.

Front Page Keyword Density:

This section gives the 10 most frequently use words on the domain name page (not counting words like if, and, or). Your main site keywords should be in this list. These will be the words the search engines think are the most important words on the page and likewise gives the search engines a site theme. If words other than your keywords appear on this list you may be giving the search engines the wrong impression of what your site is about. Likely the main keywords in your Meta Title and Meta Description should appear in this list.

Search Engine Ranking

There are two different search engine ranks displayed here, Google page rank and Alexa Site rank. The Google page rank in one of the many indicators Google uses to decide how important a webpage is. Don’t get too hung up on Page Rank (PR), this is only one of the factors that needs to be considered while addressing the sites SEO. If you plan on selling links on your site, Page Rank will make a very large difference on how much people are willing to pay.

The second rank is the Alexa Site rank. This is based on how many visitors Alexa thinks are coming to the site. Like Googles page rank, the Alexa site rank will make a large difference in how much people are willing to pay to put a link you’re your site.

Major Search engine Indexed pages:

If this is your site and the number of pages listed is lower than the number of pages on your site by a significant number than usually that means the search engines are having a hard time finding all of your pages. You may need to review your website navigation and make sure there are no problems or consider using sitemaps.

If the number of pages is considerably higher that the number of pages on your site you may have a problem with concurrent pages. These are pages that can be accessed using different URLs. This happens very easily when you are using page parameters and can also happen if you site is listed as both a www.sitename.com site as well as a site without the www. This can also be caused by links to pages being in both all lower letters as well as lower letter with capitals. Consistency of URLs is very important in SEO.

Major Search engine Backlinks

Yahoo will usually show the greatest number of backlinks. You can pretty much figure that most of the backlinks pointing to your site will be listed in Yahoo. It does take Yahoo a little longer to find and display the links though. Google shows only a small portion of the links that are pointing to your site that it knows about.

Major Directory Inclusion

Both Yahoo and DMOZ directory inclusion can be helpful in giving a site an “Authority” status. The search engines seem to give a lot of weight to the directories listing even though the Yahoo directory is a paid listing.

Social Networking Links

These show the overall popularity of the site. If the site has a lot of listing is these sites likely the topic of the site has a very active user base and the site is considered relevant to people interested in that topic. Each listing site draws a different crowd of people.

Domain Information

Domain age is rather important. Most Search engine considers a site with greater age to be more important and will often rank a page on the site higher that it would if the site was new. Sites under 1 year old are the hardest affected. New sites are often considered spam unless given a good reason not to consider them as such. Sites over 5 and 10 years old seem to have increased status.

Whois Information is useful in finding out who owns a site. You can often use this information if you need to contact the owner of the site.

Website Neighborhood

Website analysis can also help determine if a site is considered a "Bad Neighborhood" site. In addition to not wanting to link to porn, nudity, and adult sites (unless your content is the same), you also want to avoid linking to sites where the owner is using heavy spam technics to promote the site. New sites with very high numbers of links should raise your suspicions. Likewise should old sites with very high PR but few links or few indexed pages (likely fake PR). You probably want to avoid linking to sites that are not indexed by Google unless you know it is a new and clean site (no spam). If the site has a high number of Yahoo indexed pages but few Google indexed pages that likewise should give you cause for suspicion.

The information found in this website analysis report will give a basis to start from in analyzing a website. It provides a quick way to check the strength of the site as well as what the owner of the site is doing to promote the website.
